User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.4pre) Gecko/20070519 Camino/1.6a1pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.4pre) Gecko/20070519 Camino/1.6a1pre My default application to view PDF is "Skim", *not* Preview. Whenever I download a PDF with Camino and then double click on it, it just opens in Preview, not in Skim -as I would like to. The same happens with other kinds of files (.html for instance). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Download a PDF 2.Double click on it 3.See: it opens in Preview, which might not be the default application for viewing PDFs. Actual Results: The PDF opens in Preview. Expected Results: The PDF should have opened in the default application to view PDFs, which might not be Apple's Preview.

Does Firefox get this right? Does Safari get this right?

I wonder if this is related to bug 236389. If you Get Info on one of these downloaded files in the Finder, does it say that it will open in Skim, or Preview? Does setting it to Skim and doing an Change All fix future downloads?
Thanks guys! Get info -> Open with -> Skim -> Change all fixed everything; now every downloaded PDFs (and not only local PDFs) are opened with Skim. Maybe this is a bug in Mac OS X, not Camino. I'm sorry I didn't see bug 236389 (didn't appear searching "pdf default"). I still have a problem with .HTML, though. When I open up a website and choose "Save as HTML", the downloaded file, when double clicked, opens in Camino. But try this: http://web.mate.polimi.it/viste/studenti/send.php?tipo=a&id=78&id_insegnamento=152&filename=EDOrd03-04.htm When double-clicked it opens in Internet Explorer for Mac (yes, I still have it installed on my Mac).
Sorry, link not working. Open this page http://web.mate.polimi.it/viste/studenti/pagina_docente5.php?id=78&id_insegnamento=152 and click on "EDOrd03-04.htm" Thanks for your help.

htm and html would be treated differently by the system, since they have different extensions. I'm guessing both of these are related to the type code though, so duping.
