Details
There should be a way to change the images and text in the installer so that people creating renamed Firefox browsers can use the installer without having to rebuild it.

Incidentally this was possible with the old installer. This is a big deficiency with NSIS.

Rob, How easy is it to build a Firefox installer with NSIS outside of the tree?

I haven't looked into what would be the easiest way to change text and images with the NSIS installer or what it would take to build it outside of the tree. If all strings are supplied I believe it would be fairly trivial but to just change strings is more difficult since our strings are in files with a different format than NSIS uses to satisfy l10n requirements. It is important to note that this also applies to the uninstaller which is also localized now with NSIS.

I haven't actually run into people that need this. They create custom NSIS packages.
