User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070322 SeaMonkey/1.1.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070322 SeaMonkey/1.1.1

I configured SeaMonkey to open a "progress dialog" for downloads. When I do that in Windows, after a download finishes I have the options to "launch file" or "show file location". In Linux they are always disabled.

I understand there's no unique way to do to that in Linux, so I think there should be a configuration window where users can select what these buttons should do.

For example I use KDE, so I'd like "show file location" to open a konqueror window, and "launch file" to perform an action specified by konqueror's file associations. Users of other desktop environments should also be able to configure the buttons to do the appropriate actions.

It would be even better if SeaMonkey could detect that automatically, but any usable configuration window would do.

Reproducible: Always

On this (trunk) build, "Show File Location" is not disabled. "Launch File" simply isn't there but I suppose the file could be "launched" by clicking it after "showing" its "location".

Adrian: If by any chance this bug has disappeared on Sm 1.1.9, please resolve it WORKSFORME.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.
"Show file location" is still disabled for me in SM 1.1.9.
Maybe it just doesn't work in kde?

Works for me with the new download manager in SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1 and later - we will not do any further work on 1.1.x except security fixes.

In 2.0 beta 1 and 2, the two buttons have completely disappeared! This is NOT a solution and is in no way acceptable.

No plans to bring them back. And that's _my_ final word.
