Have you tried:
- Firefox's safe-mode to exclude extension/theme problems
- a reinstall in a new empty folder
- a new profile?

Thanks for your reply. I did figure out what is causing this problem, its the Veoh Browser Plugin. As soon as I disabled it, everything was fine. Thanks for your help.

I can't say, the Veoh plugin is not compatible with trunk.

I see it on the latest trunk build "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070613 Minefield/3.0a6pre".
When I switch back to the last pre-Places build I have (20070518), the title bar updates when I switch tabs. Switching to the latest trunk build, the title bar does not update.
I tried this in safe mode with trunk, and I still see the problem.

I just tested this with today's build "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070615 Minefield/3.0a6pre" and a new profile, no extensions, and I still see this behavior. I think that should be enough to say this is a real problem. I hope I'm not overstepping any bounds changing bug to NEW status.

WFM now, with latest trunk build (20071023). I think it's been working for a while, actually.

Yes, this problem is there. I am not using Veoh plugin.
The title bar also doesnt get updated if 'we close the tab'.

I am not sure if I should open a new bug, but there is another thing related to tab switching. Beside the fact, the title will not update, the page search will work only on the page which title is in the title bar...
So e.g. I have 2 tabs and the title says "Tab 1" and after switching to "Tab 2" the title still says "Tab 1". When doing search (aka the '/' button), I am actually searching "Tab 1" page, and not "Tab 2" which is currently active.
I thought it may help.
BTW, the issue only started to occur when I opened up a particularly long HTML file (lots of text) so not sure if anyone reported this already...
BTW: I am using Firefox 3 beta 4, so not sure how old is the code here...

Bug 337915? Bug 419813 implies McAfee messes this up too.
Confirming the search bar working on the title page instead of the focused tab's page. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9b4) Gecko/2008030714 Firefox/3.0b4
