Could be a feature of (or a bug in) an extension. Can you reproduce this in Firefox's safe-mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox)
This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME http://www.mozilla.com http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+mode

This question is 3 yrs old Of course there are new versions and I have installed them as them come available. Problem Persists!
Bill, what version do you currently have, and does this still happen in a new profile?
3.6.3 what do you mean 'in another profile"? I have 6 computers with Firefox and it only happens on one XP system I showed it to a couple of people and they have never seen anything like it
In comment 2 I gave a link to new profile information. please read it, and create a new one. If this only happens on one machine, it is not a bug then.
No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.x or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
