382489 - Options window (panel) does not display at all! Only captions and "OK/Cancel/Help"

Clicking Tools, Options, does NOT bring up a panel. I just installed the newer version from 1.0.7. All that displays (on top of whatever window is active) is the  title bar: Main Tabs Content Feeds Privacy Security Advanced, and then below are clickable buttons OK, Cancel, Help. Clicking the Help button brings up Firefox Help, and OK or Cancel close the title "panel"
But I cannot set any options now.

Bring up Options panel

I cannot set themes, change home page, etc. The url: about:config brings up the proper configuration window.
Also, there is now no scroll bar on the side of long pages, such as about:config. Is this normal in the newer version or is this yet another bug?

Are you using the default theme? tools -> addons -> themes tab -> select default and use this theme. What you are describing sounds like a broken theme from Firefox 1.5.

OMG, that fixed it!  I keep forgetting that add-ons and themes and different button bars have caused me problems with this program in the past. Sorry to clutter up the bandwidth with this problem, but perhaps the comment from Kevin could be added to the FAQ about problems in general: start with the simplest version and see if it works; start in "safe mode" and see if it works. Then, and only then, apply your own ideas of how the screen and buttons should look.
