RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 244618

People

(Reporter: davygrvy, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.0 (20070326)

Content-Type is chosen based on file extension (so it seems). But when the file's extension doesn't accurately associate to its type, Thunderbird has no method to customize the Content-Type.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a module file in my CAD software with extension .mod (as it should be) which is text/plain
2. drop into a compose window
3. send to someone

Actual Results:
Receiver notices that it is given video/mpeg by TB and treated as a binary with base64 encoding.

TB should have allowed me set Content-Type to text/plain as I wanted. Forte' Agent allows one to customize Content-Type. I'd like the feature in TB too, tnks.
