User-Agent: Opera/9.20 (Windows NT 5.1; U; it) Build Identifier: 2.0.0.0 (20070326) If a personal name associated to a mail account contains colons (like mine - "KJK::Hyperion"), e-mails sent from the account arrive with the name in the From: line completely mangled, often with the SMTP's host name mixed in. This is highly undesireable not to mention a violation of privacy for disclosing the SMTP server's host name Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a mail account with a colon (":") in the personal name (not the account name) 2. Send mail from the account 3. Receive mail Actual Results: Personal name in From: line is variously mangled, often with extra text inserted after the colon Expected Results: The name should be received intact Seems to be related to bug #324444
Workaround found: manually enclose the name in quotes

WFM here on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5pre) Gecko/20091022 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0pre ID:20091022031603 (ps: I use :Aureliano Buendía without quote here) KJK::Hyperion could you try to see if it still happens with http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/ and close as WFM if you see that the issue is gone?
