User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070509 Camino/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070509 Camino/1.5 CaminoBrowser.org proudly brags that it now remembers your session when you reopen Camino. But, as it turns out, it does not by default. To actually do this you have to check the "When Camino Starts" checkbox in the General tab of the preferences. After getting several people to try Camino, none of them found this checkbox. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit http://www.caminobrowser.org/features/ 2. See that it says: "Camino 1.5 now includes support for “session saving”, or remembering what pages you were visiting when you quit and automatically loading them the next time you start" 3. Quit. 4. Reopen Camino. Actual Results: The default homepage is opened. Expected Results: The old URL should be opened. Just check that preference by default.
For now, I've changed the website (features page) to link to our FAQ entry on this. I'm not sure that resolves this bug (which is really about turning on session saving by default), but it at least makes the directions more visible. (Smokey, if you have suggestions on text for there, let me know.)
If the checkbox doesn't get changed, I'd change the front page and the FAQ to make it clear that Camino _can_ remember where you were when you quit; right now it says that it _does_.
We include "support for" a vast number of features in Camino, most of which are not on by default (tabbed browsing being the most prominent). That said, for some reason people seem to think session-saving is on by default, so we'll clarify the website. However, I don't think we want restore-after-manual-quit on by default.
Yep, this is an opt-in feature. WONTFIX.
