Tests such as Tp/Tp2/Tdhtml use this function to run their tests. The logic of AliveTest is as follows, though: run the test for X seconds and if we timeout (i.e. don't crash) after X seconds, PASS We set very high timeouts for Tp/Tp2/Tdhtml and usually exit before they end and AliveTest prints that we fail the test. We pass it, however, since we use AliveTestReturnToken and scrape the log. This results in stuff like "LayoutPerformanceTest: test failed" getting printed out even if the tests pass, which is kind of annoying.
Wow, several different sorts of blast-from-the-past here :)
