User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 Creative ZENcast v1.02.10 Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0.0.0 (Windows/20070326) See below for steps to reproduce this problem. The main issue caused by this bug is user no longer can cancel a message from being sent. This is specially annoying for users used to press Ctrl+Enter, and accidentally press Enter twice. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the Compose window, and create a message (preferably with large attachments so that the send process takes some time.) 2. Press Send (or Ctrl+Enter). The "Sending Messages" window appears. 3. Press Enter on the keyboard. Actual Results: The "Sending Messages" window is dismissed, while the message continues to be sent (it can be verified in the status bar.) If enough time passes, the message is indeed sent, and will appear in receivers' mail boxes. The Compose UI (including the recipients list, as well as the subject text box) remains disabled during this process. Expected Results: Nothing should happen. Alternatively, if the Cancel button has the initial focus, the button should be activated and sending the message should be canceled.

It appears that allowing the hidden OK button to remain active was deliberately left as a gotcha for dialog coders. See the last sentence of: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284776#c18

I've not seen this bug happen in last few editions and just tested in 6.0.2 and can't reproduce.

I personally would recommend this be marked as fixed because I've not seen this for ages and write hundreds of emails per week on Thunderbird (currently 17.0.5).
