Details

There was a view on IRC today that "Core" should be added to the pretty chooser for enter_bug.cgi.

This is for people who have enough clue to read the description and realise their bug is part of the core, but not enough patience to click "All Products" and read the list of 30 :-)

uhhh.... ok, so how do we go about wording this?

And this will probably result in lots of random crap getting filed there...
Suggestion:

Firefox:
  Front-end (user interface) parts of the Mozilla Foundation's next-generation
  web browser

Thunderbird:
  Front-end (user interface) parts of the Mozilla Foundation's next-generation
  email client

Core:
  Back-end components of Firefox, Thunderbird, and other products, including web
  page layout (Gecko), networking, and other shared code.
Maybe s/(user interface)/ if you think this will direct too many bugs into Core.
s#)/#//#;
s/other products, including/other products: includes/;
Need a graphic for it, too, really...
Is this still wanted? If so, I need a graphic. I could use the Dino head, but I'm already using it for Mozilla Localizations (bug 353480) and Mozilla Labs (bug 404669).

I think it is still wanted. Why not just use the Dino head until somebody comes up with something better?
Can we please do this?

I'd actually avoid changing the Firefox / Thunderbird descriptions. (They could probably be reworded, but I don't want to make the descriptions seem too restrictive. Let's at least do this one step at a time.)

So I think we should just add something like:

   [Dino head]   Core

       Shared components used by Firefox and other Mozilla software,
       including handling of Web content (HTML, CSS, scripts, images,
       networking, etc.).
That looks good to me. I also think it should be at the top of the list, otherwise people will just click on the Firefox logo.

This is done. Might need some massaging on the product descriptions to make sure people land in the right ones, but those can be separate bugs.
