I have just installed Firefox on a new computer. I closed down a session Friday and when I opened it again, the session restore message came up. I did not choose to restore but it did and continues to restore to the same tab each time I open Firefox (even after I have completely shut down the computer.) The mouse does not work while in Firefox.

I've never seen such behavior so far. Could you please list all the extensions you're using so that I can try to reproduce it.
Furthermore remove the file sessionstore.js manually from your profile folder (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder ) and see if that helps.
Finally, it would also help if you could have a look at the Error Console (in the Tools menu) and confirm that there are no errors right after startup (you'll have to navigate to about:config and toggle javascript.options.showInConsole first though).

Extensions I am using: Ad block plus; colorful tabs; DOM inspector;Forcast fox; Status Clock; Stumbleupon; Talkback; Yahoo Toolbar.
I didn't find anything like you listed in Error Console.

I'm not able to reproduce the behavior you describe with the extensions you've got installed. My guess is thus that you've hit bug 351551. Please go to your profile folder (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder ) and delete all files starting with sessionstore. If there were any other than sessionstore.js, please name them here for reference.

Reporter: Can you reproduce this issue after having done what comment #3 suggests? Please also try to reproduce again after having updated to Firefox 2.0.0.5 (to be released next Thursday), as that version contains a fix for the mentioned bug 351551. If you can no longer reproduce, please close this bug as WORKSFORME.
