I have zipped up the files, and placed on my webserver so you can have a look.

http://www.markwiltshire.com/open/jsobject.zip

Problem file is fsearch.htm

I am running this from the O'Reilly CD content which I have a local Apache 2.2.2 webserver serving up.

As soon as firefox points to fsearch.htm it crashes. I haven't used it for a while (approx 6 months ago), but this used to work fine???

The files don't exist on your web server are you going to put them up or did you take them down? Have you tried Firefox's safe mode or making a new profile as diagnostic steps? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox

My mistake wrong URL for attachment

http://www.markwiltshire.com/open/jobjects.zip
I don't get a crash on Win Vista using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/2007061904 Minefield/3.0a6pre, but I do see a "Loading Java Applet failed" in the status bar on that page.

what version of java runtime are you using? (see in about:plugins)
Can you still reproduce with latest 1.6.0 update 2?
no response
