Mozilla 2.0.4 on WinXP. The options dialog allows to change background color of a page (tab Content). It uses a grid of 70 given colors spread throughout the whole color spectrum. This is mistake - very few people want pure red as their background color but many and many are used a very slight yellow color, just like real office paper has.
Clear white is unpleasant to eyes and the nearest yellowish color available in the dialog is "too yellow" and unpleasant as well.
I suggest to change the color selection tool to allow color specification in very detail (e.g. RGB numeric values). Even better, few slight yellow tinges may be predefined instead of, say, pure colors.

This is possible in about:config and also with the help of an extension I guess.
But the colours are indeed not very subtle. Maybe a kind of off-white or ivory should be offered. But that looks very different on every screen.
