Gnome 2.19.3
Reproduced steps:
1. Launch thunderbird
2. OPen a message with an attachment
3 [review]. Right click the attachment and select "Save as"
4. Pop out a "Save Attachment" dialog
5. Click "Save" button, the default "Save in folder" is "Desktop"
Actual result:
After step#5: The attachment is saved in "/export/home/jessie"
Expected result:
After step#5: The attachment is saved in "/export/home/jessie/Desktop"
In the "Save Attachment" dialog, click "Browse for other folders", select a foder to save, such as "Desktop". The attachment will be saved in correct location.
It means the bug is :
The location showed next to "Save in folder" is not what you select in the dropdown.

It is a bug in Gnome 2.19, not only Thunderbird save attachment in the wrong place, all the applications in Gnome, like gedit, have the same behavior.
