  saving an application/octet-stream URL to a path with an aliased folder results in overwriting the alias



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1/ create an alias of a folder 

2/ open an url with type application/octet-stream, firefox pops up a window to either choose an application to open the document or to save it. 

3/ Choose to save the file, firefox opens the standard windows XP browsing window to choose a folder and a filename to save the file.

4/ browse to the alias

same bug when trying to save an image from a page with a right-click

  
Actual Results:  
Firefox overwrites the alias itself


Expected Results:  
Firefox should continue browsing into the aliased folder.



  Saving a file works fine with mozilla 1.7.13 for windows (and all tested versions)

  Browsing throw an aliased folder works fine also with firefox when saving link or current page.

I think the correct term in english is "shortcut" and not "alias"

Sorry, i can't reproduce that neither in XP ir in Vista, when i double click the folder shortcut the dialog browse in, without any problem

I installed 2.0.0.6 and the bug doesn't appear anymore.
