User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.13) Gecko/20060414 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.13) Gecko/20060414 This is due to seamonkey.exe which don't close... Obliged everytime to kill the procce thru CTRL+ALT+Suppr This appeared just after installing Tidy ... Suppress Seamonkey, then reinstall it does not cure the problem. In between, i've go back to Mozilla 1.7.13 which works perfectly.... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Seamonkey 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 2.Start Mail and Newsgroup, then Browser 3.Close it 4.Try to restart browser : no effect, stay in Mail status 5.Check Windows processes : seamonkey.exe still there (while "quich launch" not in service)
seems the installation of an extension botched your profile Can you please supply a link to Tidy (the one you installed?) Please read http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/doc/installation.html.en#uninstall Did you deinstall seamonkey before reinstalling, or did you just install ontop? Maybe you can use chrome manager of http://mnenhy.mozdev.org/ if you understand how it's working. (Make a backup of the profile before using chrome manager) Using Mozilla, create a new profile using Tools->SwitchProfile->ManageProfiles->CreateProfile, then deinstall Mozilla, reinstall seamonkey. if any of these suggestions is working, close the bug as WORKSFORME and and post the link to the extension you installed. You can get support looking for Seamonkey at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Knowledge_Base or reading/asking at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=40 No registration needed for writing in support forum, free registration needed for writing in other forums.
Hi, and thanks for answer ! I have solved the problem through (erasing old/creating) new profile. Renaming the chrome folder (as suggested in the Knowledge base) was inoperative (starting Seamonkey stopped after big blue icon was displayed). Of course I never reinstall OVER, but after uninstalling the previous version. As far as I am concerned, the problem is solved, but the issue remains : Tidy was without any doubt the cause of these malfunctions. I took it via SOURCEFORGE, version 7.
You mean Tidy from http://tidy.sourceforge.net/ ?
Exactly ....
