38687 - tooltips confused and give JS error when mousing over twisty

When mousing over a folder, tooltip only show "0/???" untill the folder gets
selected by clicking on it. Then first it "sees" how many mails a folder
contain.
(However, content is later remembered on mouseover, within one mailsession, even
if other folders are currently selected)

Expected:
Tooltip to display number of mails on mouseover right away, without user having
to click anything.


Mousing over a twisty shows error in console:

Expected:
Tooltips content when mousing over a twisty should be the same as if i moused
over the folder outside it.

Yet an issue i suspect may be related to this, but it may sort under already
known bug about "tooltips eats mouse-clicks" - in that case discard this info:

When a folder is selected, subfolders do NOT open no matter how or how many
times i click a twisty outside it. I just get heaps of "write clipboard to
memory" in console. A doubleclick on the folder itself is required to open it.

actually.. tooltips over twisties in mail is kind of redundant:

-Tooltop over the account-folder as such should display a summary of total mails
in all folders.

-Tooltip over subfolders should display the content in numbers for that
particular folder.

To legitimize tolltips for twisties, the content displayed on that tooltip
should be something unique, and not just echo the same content you get one
millimeter to the right when mousing over the account-folder.
The figure unique to a twisty is the amount of subfolders it will unfold.

the tooltip isn't meant to show up on the twisty.  The twisty is in the cell 
where the tooltip was placed and is therefore showing up.

seems this is also a crasher.. if you click a subfolder and then open/close with
twisty some times. The same JS error but i couldn't get a good trace with gdb -
could reproduce each time after a while though - just select empty folder - open
close twisty 2 or 3 or 4 times - down it goes.

Because I just marked a bug as a dup of this I just want to reiterate that the
solution here will be to not display a tooltip over a twisty.  It gets confused
because twisties always display the value of the last tooltip that was shown.

In the folder pane, if I hover over a folder's twisty I get the wrong name.  It
seems to be almost totally random again.  Frequently, it'll reuse the last
tooltip over and over.

The behaviour of this bug changed a while back:
Mousing over twisty in mailnews still show a tooltip, but the text is the one
belonging to the folder next to it, regardless of what folder i previusoly had
moused over.

So this is good'ish. (Except that there should be NO tooltip)
But this means the tooltips are no longer confusing.

Also: The js error messages don't display in console anymore.
But that may be some debug code removed?

I think there are no tooltips anymore. (This bug hasn't been touched in two
years...)
So there is not only this bug 'fixed' (as already in your last comment), but
also no way for it to appear anyway. -> WFM/INVALID?
It's your bug...
