User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070531 Firefox/2.0.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070531 Firefox/2.0.0.4 When a long line of text of specific sizes contains text inside a tag (span, a, etc.), the text in this tag will get over the previous text. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: * text with spaces (the more spaces there is, the worst it gets) * any non-fixed-width font-family * any font-size other than 12px, 14px, 18px, 20px, 24px... (I used 13px below) * any tag at the end of a line of text (I used a <span/> below) Actual Results: The text within the tag at the end of the line gets over the previous text.

I didn't test this in Tiger or any other version of Mac OS X, but I'm pretty sure it's specific to Leopard. Also, this doesn't appear in GranParadiso or Minefield.
If it doesn't appear in GP or Minefield (does it happen in Camino-trunk?), it's likely this is a dupe of an already-fixed bug that may not ever be fixed on the 1.8 branch.
Summary: Problem with variable-width font in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard → [10.5] Problem with variable-width font
cl, can you dupe this against that bug?
Since I don't have access to 10.5, I'm probably not the best person to evaluate a proper resolution for this bug.
Sam, can you dupe this re: comment 3 ?
I'm not sure what bug would have fixed this, so let's just resolve it as WORKSFORME. Guillaume, this will be fixed in Firefox 3 / Camino 2.
