When Firefox is first start, the bookmark behave normally, but fail when navigate around bookmark folders. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) click Bookmarks menu item shows the Bookmarks menu 2) Navigate to any one of the Bookmark folders shows the bookmarks next to it 3) Navigate to another Bookmark folder shows the bookmarks of the newly selected folder 4) Navigate to the originally selected Bookmark folders DOES NOT show the bookmarks, no submenu is displayed 5) Navigate to the selected folder in 3) also DOES NOT show the bookmarks, no submenu is displayed Actual Results: Bookmark submenu shows up Expected Results: Bookmark submenu DOES NOT show When navigate to a Bookmark folder, and when the submenu does not show up, pressing the keyboard right arrow can retrieve bookmarks in the submenu (correct behavior).

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks for possible causes. Mostly caused by a corrupt localstore.rdf.
It doesn't seem to be a problem caused by localstore.rdf. Did try deleting the localstore.rdf to let Firefox rebuild it. The problem persists. Normally, when there is a Bookmark Folder under the Bookmark menu, and when mouse over the Bookmark Folder, the Bookmarks Items inside the Folder should be shown next to the drop down menu. The problem is that the Bookmark Items will be shown THE FIRST TIME after Firefox is started. When navigate away from the Bookmark Folder and goes back, the Bookmark Items do not show, a keyboard left arrow keystroke can bring the Bookmark Items out.
a few days later, the menu behaviour comes back to normal. do not know what happened.
