I think this is actually different than bug #380721, because that one concerns cells in a table in a frameset, and this one refers to two different tables overlapping. Also, the test case at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=264863 displays the same in FF 2.0.0.4 and Seamonkey 1.1.2, while my example page looks OK in FF but not in Seamonkey.
Weirdly, now the page in the URL for this bug looks OK, but (for example) https://landfill.bugzilla.org/bugzilla-3.0-branch/show_bug.cgi?id=27 doesn't
Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ?
Just tried it with Seamonkey v1.1.9, looks OK (no overlapping)
