Nothing special sets this off, but occasionally Firefox will just wipe out all of my bookmarks and tabs.  My history will remain intact but no bookmarks survive.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Mark Bookmarks
2.???
3.No more marked Bookmarks
Actual Results:  
The bookmarks have been wiped 3 times in the past 2 months.

Expected Results:  
It will happen again.

It is very annoying.

You could also try Foxmarks extension to backup your bookmarks to an Internet server
