From a conversation on IRC the other day, it's been noted that several search plugins have invalid update and/or updateIcon paths (the paths are 404s).
Before remora, the files were just stored in the webroot with no additional add-on information (like author, etc.). Now that they are considered add-ons in Remora, when we migrated, I just uploaded them using my account. I'd like to get a policy in place so that search plugin authors need to create an account and maintain their plugin if they want it to show up on the public side. Shaver - thoughts on that?
Search engines with invalid URLs include:
ask.com
business.com
expedia.com
hollywood
imdb
usa_today
yahoo_answers
I emailed ask.com before I knew there were so many others - no reply as of yet.

When I converted the existing Sherlock formatted search plugins to OpenSearch format, I've removed the updateURL. So, I'm marking this as fixed. The only one that has something is ask.com with an iconupdate path of http://mycroft.mozdev.org/updateos.php/id0/ask16x16.ico which works.
