Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0.0.5

I have had problems when automatic updates have updated to 2.0.0.5. The first time, the installation failed and when I tried to open Thunderbird, it kept trying the installation, even after a reboot.

The only way I found around this was to do a full system restore to a point before the update and uninstall Thunderbird and download and install the latest version.

Once this was done, the next day it tried to download and install the new version again, even though the latest version was installed.

I have now had to disable auto update.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Do you have tried to update as normal user or as admin user ?

For the repeating update offer for 2.0.0.5 please see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Updates_reported_when_running_newest_version
This was done as an admin user and the second update also came as an admin user.

Those matters seem to relate to Firefox and not Thunderbird which is where I am having issues.

Having set the update to manual, I can check if I need a later version but this seems to be a replica of the problem described in the earlier version of Firefox.
Possible variant of bug 340535? If you have logitech software running, make sure it's closed when trying to update.
Version: unspecified → 2.0
=> incomplete - lacks feedback

Mark, if you agree with comment 3, please dupe your bug to 340535.
If you don't agree and problem still exists please comment in the bug.

I am running Logitech Quickcam. Next time I have an update notification for Thunderbird, I will disable it before installation and see if that helps. Cab't really test it before an update needs to be installed.
