I have never seen this. Sounds like there is a secret (malware/adware) process going on on your computer. Possibly AdAware doesn't know this adware and you need to use other programs. See http://www.spywareinfo.com/
Hi Ria, I followed your link and from the advice ran spybot which found 5 suspect objects all relating to Firefox so I ended up uninstalling Firefox & going back to IE. I had been having problems with connecting downloading & mulitasking all of which dissapeared after uninstalling Firefox. My laptop is now running fine. This is a great shame as I was new to firefox having read about it on the net and really liked using it I much prefere it to IE :) If you have any way I can run FF without compromising my laptop please let me know Thanks Michael

Please copy the information about the found spyware from Spybot to this bug. Although I think this is from downloaded software. Firefox can protect you against spyware that was included in downloads (just as IE). You need to scan the downloads before running them.

locate your profile folder (http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#locate) and delete it (make a backup of it before) then completely delete the c:\program files\mozilla firefox folder (in case uninstall has leaved some file back) then download firefox from a trusted source: http://www.getfirefox.com and try to install (don't use your previous installer it could have been downloaded from an untrusted third party source) This way you will be sure that firefox does not contain anything bad, if you still see the problem then it's probably sopmewhere in the registry or in system files
