Earlier version 1.5 was stable. Upgraded to 2 and after several minutes (5 - 15) after searching web the program crashes. Have to cntl alt del to restart computer due to error (blue screen). On restarting asks whether to restart previous fire fox or start new on. Has continually done this since the upgrade to 2.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:

2.
3.
Happens on general surfing the net (Out of the blue just crashes)

If it's a blue screen, then it can't be a crash in Firefox. It must be in a driver or in the OS.

Try upgrading your plugins (java, flash, ...)

Summary: fireforx crashing when transferring to other pages or links → firefox crashing when transferring to other pages or links

As you are still on Win98, I assume you may be a bit scarce on RAM (I am, using 128MB).
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Reducing_memory_usage_-_Firefox
If you want to see what's going on, I suggest using Process Explorer for Windows By Mark Russinovich. It is simply an exe that runs when you start it, it doesn't install itself, can be deleted anytime. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/ProcessExplorer.mspx

No reply, INCO. Reporter, please reopen this bug if you can see this issue with Firefox 3.5 or later in Firefox Safe Mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) or a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles)
