User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.5; Linux) KHTML/3.5.5 (like Gecko) (Debian)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; fi; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6
Installing the Finnish spell checking dictionary extension (version 0.9.7) renders the browser unusable.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install the Finnish spell checking extensio
2. Restart the browser twice
Actual Results:
The browser crashes on second start.
Expected Results:
The browser does not crash.
The crash is probably due to the fact that unlike most dictionary extensions the Finnish dictionary contains a binary component which incompatible with something on Vista (this does not happen on XP). Talkback ID for the crash is 34641863. This is related to bug #364035. I consider this a serious issue because the update of Firefox to version 2.0.0.6 displays a page that contains a recommendation to install this particular extension.

I do not currently have access to a Vista installation, so I cannot really check this. But I have used a prerelease of Firefox 3 with a prerelease of the Finnish dictionary extension (something between the current version 0.10.0 and experimental 0.11.0 at addons.mozilla.org). I did not see any problems with that combination on Vista or XP.
So I believe that the problem has been fixed with FF3 + Finnish dictionary 0.11.0. It may have been fixed already with FF2 + Finnish dictionary 0.10.0 (released in February 2008), but I have never tested that combination. Note that addons.mozilla.org still provides version 0.10.0 unless you log in, and that version is not compatible with FF3.
