Some people have problems to read the small text on computer screens.
Because of their job they still have to use computers to get the job done.

I have some customers that have asked if I could create their web application in such way that when they are editing text in a textarea, input field or in e.g. an online WYSIWYG editor like FCKeditor then they would like to see a larger (thicker) caret (insertion point indicator) as well as customizable color on it.

I'm talking about the blinking insertion point indicator that looks approximately like this character: |

If it is firefox that renders the caret and not the OS, then I would like to see a possibility for the enduser to make Firefox use a custom caret.

I would like to see support for:
Custom width such as 1px, 2px, 3px, 4px, 5px
and
Custom color.

Hope this can be supported in near future.

If you the core developers choose not to implement this, then please get some extension developers to develop something that make this possible.

I know that this is probably not a big issues for most endusers out there, but for the people that have an issue with this, it will definitely improve their browser experience.

Keep up the good work. Firefox shines :-)

So, can this be done in Firefox code or is this pure OS code?
