391727 - when I upgrade to version 2.0.0.6 I get error message, crashes invalid page fault

when i upgrade to 2.0.0.6from 2.0.0.4 i get the following error message Firefox caused an invallid  page fault in module Firefox.exe at 0167:00658da3. after which it gives detail line numbers . Then firefox closed down Then I have to uninstall 2.0.0.6 and reinstall 2.0.0.4 which works

Have you tried:

- Firefox's safe-mode to exclude extension/theme problems
- a new profile
- a reinstall in a new empty folder?

this is the complete error message  i get , even after I reinstalled firefox 6.0.0.6 in anew folder .I  deleated the old folders.

I tried all your sugesstions but I am still getting error messages , I am
not a computer geek so I don't know how to use the safe mode. when I
continue it works for a while but then the error messages closes the
browser. same thing happens when I delete the mozilla folder in program
files and the profile folder in
C:\windows\applications  Data\Mozilla\firefox\profiles
then I reinstall firefox 2.0.0.6 , it works for a while then it crashes . I
don't think it could be effected by AVG Free Edition 7.5 could it.

I have been thru the help files for safe mode and I still get lost  I need a step by step instructions as to finding the problem . The reason I went to firefox in the first place is that my Internet Explorer allways gives can't find server message . When I then click on check settings it works for awile.

I have installed version 2.0.0.0.7 with the same result . I  wonder since I am using version 2.0.0.0.4 if I installed 2.0.0.0.5 then .6 then .7 . However I don't have copies of the older versions on my computer except 2.0.0.0.4
