I upgraded to the latest Camino, both 1.8 branch and trunk. I tried running the trunk build for a while, and found my computer to bog down horribly. Running top in the terminal took forever, but I found my WindowServer task chewing up a ton of resources:
PID COMMAND %CPU TIME #TH #PRTS #MREGS RPRVT RSHRD RSIZE VSIZE
7726 WindowServ 2.8% 4:51.62 4 278 >>>>> 5.00M+ 51.2M 50.5M+ 2.02G+
The first time I caught it with ">>>" mregs, the vsize was 3.5+ gigs, and the machine was crawling. Logging out (thus killing the WindowServer) was the fix.
I'm not sure what you're doing on the trunk, but it's killing the memory consumption of the WindowServer, and killing the machine too.
