It took 55 seconds to download the Firefox website. If I have 6 windows open, Firefox states a different points, I have 2 or 4 windows open. Repeat error messages to shutdown my browser and reopen it. This all started with the last update about Wednesday or Thursday. I have Windows XP Home, 1 GB of memory and a high speed cable connection.9Comcast)

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Downloaded Firefox, same results.

Actual Results:  
Downloaded latest Firefox with SCM extension. Can I remove the SCM extension somehow? It is not under Control Panel, Add or Remove Software.

Expected Results:  
Same as before the downloading of Firefox, wanted faster speed that was available before latest update

Yopu should always download Firefox from the official site or from http://www.getfirefox.com
Extensions are available (and removable) trough menu Tools / Add-ons

Try to do a clean uninstall / reinstall of Firefox (taken from an official site) and report if that still happens, If not working try creating a new profile (http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new)

This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.x or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
