Nothing is removed, no menus pop up...it's like I never used the shortcuts at all. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Download a file or application 2.When the download completes, single-click and press the delete key OR 3.Use Option-N Actual Results: Nothing happens. Expected Results: Completed downloads to be removed or cleared. Firefox theme: Default Computer: iMac G5 OS: Mac OS X.4.10 (Tiger)

I can confirm this behavior. I didn't actually realize opt-n was supposed to clear the list, but I can definitely confirm that the delete key (backspace equivalent) doesn't work on Mac. The actual, true delete key works on a full keyboard, however.

Do we want opt-n? Are there other apps that do this? As for the delete key, that should be fixed.

(In reply to comment #2) > Do we want opt-n? Are there other apps that do this? I've never head of an app that did it, but it'd be nice if there was a way to clear the list of downloads with a key command. opt-n seems non-standard. I bet we can come up with something better.

agree with comment 2, and blocking on that basis ... can we morph this to get rid of the opt-n part?

(In reply to comment #2) > Do we want opt-n? Are there other apps that do this? > > As for the delete key, that should be fixed. The mapping of "backspace" to "delete" on Mac was fixed in bug 394457, although I haven't that slightest about what we want to do with opt-n. Anyway, this bug should be morphed to cover that case, I'd think?

Bug 394457 adds backspace to delete on mac, and I don't see opt-N doing anything in Safari. Fixed? Invalid?

I haven't heard of opt-N in any standard app, morphing.
