The following words are not recognized by Firefox's inline spell checker:

sitted
wiki
wikipedia (although I'm not sure if this needs to be included)
encylopaedia (the alternative spelling of encyclopedia)
archaeology (alternative)

Also, some names are recognised, i.e. 'peter', 'john', 'tom' (but not thomas); but not others (all are very common names):

jane
thomas
hannah
janet 
james (a really common name)



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a textarea of your choice
2. Type 'sitted' or any other of the words into the field
3. Right clicking on the so called 'incorrect' word produces different words which are not of use. 
Actual Results:  
sitted was not recognised

Expected Results:  
sitted should have been recognised

Language English, US (although I am in the UK).

Well, dictionary.com doesn't think it is:
- http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=sitted

And neither does the Cambridge online dictionary:
- http://dictionary.cambridge.org/results.asp?searchword=sitted&x=0&y=0

And likewise with the Merriam-Webster dictionary:
- http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/sitted

Perhaps you're looking for 'sat'.

I don't think the error is about 'sitted' being in the dictionary, but rather,
what the results are from it.

slitted
spited
sited
titted
pitted

I think those should be either sit or sat.

Also, wiki/Wikipedia should probably added (notice the capital letter).

encylopaedia doesn't come up as correct on dictionary.com
(http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/encylopaedia)

The last entry does on that list.


For the names, make sure they are capitalized, and then add them.

Apologies, I spelt it wrong: 'encyclopaedia' is the word that is not recognized.

Presice should show Precise in the correct words list.

Any chance this is all going to be fixed with the new engine for this?

This should be fixed now that attachment 303861 [details] [diff] [review] of bug 418076 has landed. Please check with a 2-20 nightly or later and confirm that things work now and mark this bug VERIFIED.
