Seeing this with both Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007081404 Minefield/3.0a8pre (official nightly) and Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/200708131616 Mnenhy/0.7.5.0 SeaMonkey/2.0a1pre (self compiled from cvs) It's possible to show the full path for the found plugins in about:config by toggling user_pref("plugin.expose_full_path", true). As it makes sense to merge all plugins information in the new location (Add-Ons ->Plugins; see bug 339056) the path information should also be shown there. These path information are really extremely useful repeatedly because you often have a lot of plugins widespread on your system. By seeing the path you can check which plugins are actually recognized by FF/SM.
Beltzner and Madhava, what is your guys take on this. As it stands now this info is available in about:plugins and I would prefer not to provide this type of information in primary ui.
What about providing some sort of "about" or "details" in the context menu of a plugin? This information should be accessible /somehow/ in the normal UI IMO.
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
Depends on: 394966
I don't think this is something the general user needs, extension fodder
