changing search engines clears text in search box.

this was once different, and u could change search engines and use the go button as suggested in Bug 335827.

for example after i read about a term in wikipedia i want to do a specific (e.g.  allmusic) search on it


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. type text in search box
2. change search engine

Actual Results:  
text is cleared from text box

Expected Results:  
text should remain to allow search in new engine

I can't reproduce this with a current Mac trunk build. Are you sure you don't have an extension installed that's causing this behavior change?

sorry this was a problem with an add-on (thinger)
