User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 I had to register an account with Firefox in order to report a bug with one of Firefox's features. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use Firefox. 2. Stumble upon a bug caused by Firefox. 3. Go to Firefox.com and find out you have to register to tell Firefox about one of their own bugs. Actual Results: I found a bug using Firefox. I went to Firefox.com to contact Firefox, letting them know I found a bug. I had to register an account with Firefox just so I could tell them about one of their bugs. Expected Results: If I find a bug with someone else's software, I shouldn't have to register an account with that entity just to tell them about their own bug(s). I love Firefox. But a simple "Bugs Report" e-mail address would suffice for situations like this. I don't want to have to register an account with Firefox just to tell Firefox about one of its own bugs. Perhaps the sheer volume of bugs has forced this registration to weed out unnecessary/irrelevant information. Even then, you could set up what you have with regards to wiki and the bugs database without requiring folks to register for an account.
There are a few bug reporting options that don't involve registering accounts. There is Hendrix http://hendrix.mozilla.org/ there are several news group offerings such as http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.support.firefox/topics also available on nntp://news.mozilla.org the Mozilla news sever. Bugzilla is intended for users with a high technical background and wish to work with developers to make the Mozilla products better. Most bugs as filed need additional information from the reporter.
