deleting a folder crashes the program - it locks up and nothing can be done after any folder is deleted or moved

I do not know where these folders are coming from - they usually have names the same as already existing folders. They appear in JUNK, TRASH incoming mail folders etc - all appear as sub folders of other folders. Renaming them does not help.

A workaround could be to delete the folders manually from the profile (it's the files with no extension, but remove their .msf files too) See <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder>
