392597 - brand new update doesn't work like prior version

I just installed the brand new security update for thunderbird.  After the update there is now a grayed out portion below the list of messages and each message (approx. 3/4") which includes "<menutem" and "----------------^" in red letters.  There doesn't seem to be a way to make this go away.  Also, Forward and Back buttons now work differently (before - unread messages only; now - read messages only).

THe <menuitem ------------^ stuff is coming from some incompatible add-on you have installed. Remove the add-on to solve it.

Back and forwards is a new feature (history navigation). The old next and previous are also available if you right-click and customize your toolbar - those work on unread messages only as you want.
