If I do a Google search and I'm on the page displaying results, let's say I want to refine my search by entering different keywords in the search box. Doing so and  hitting the Google Search button does nothing. I have to hit my back button to the original Google page or start a new search. This only happens in Firefox -- i.e., Safari doesn't exhibit the same behaviour. I've got OSX version 10.4.10.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter a Google search and hit the Google Search button.
2. On the page with return results, enter new search terms and hit Google Search.
3. NOTHING HAPPENS
Actual Results:  
See step three above

Expected Results:  
I expect to see a page with results returned for my new query.

I've had the same problem with attempting subsequent searches using Google Map, Google Search, SuperPages, http://www.digeratidesigns.com/jg/tax/.

I might be able to obtain new results with one or two repeats directly without returning to previous page or original search page using back page method. Most times it requires using the Refresh command to clear it so search works. If there is a "New Search" button it appears not to be a problem if that is used instead of the "Previous Page" command.

This has been a problem for the current build and at least previous build if not additional.

This is confirmed with Firefox 3.3.6 on Windows 7 32-bit. The issue can be resolved if I do the following:

Reproducible: Always

1. Enter a search query into Google.com's search field and press Enter.
2. On the results page, enter another query and press Enter.Enter "about:config" into the address bar.

Result: Pressing enter on the second search query does nothing at all expect change the address in the address bar. The page never changes, though.

Expected Result: The second search query should have loaded a new page with the new matching search results.

Temporary Solution:

1. Enter "about:config" into the address bar and press Enter.

2. Right-click the list of settings and choose New->String.

3. In the first entry box, enter "general.useragent.override" and press Enter.

4. In the second entry box (the value for the setting), enter any string without "Firefox 3" in it.

Result: I can now do additional searches without issue. If I right-click the setting and chose "Reset", the issue would return.

Solutions tried without luck:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox
- Running in Safe Mode
- Running Firefox with the "-P" parameter to create a fresh new profile

Sorry for the mistake. The previous commit should read:

"1. Enter a search query into Google.com's search field and press Enter.
2. On the results page, enter another query and press Enter."

The line below somehow copy/pasted incorrectly into the listed steps and does not belong in the above list of steps.
"Enter "about:config" into the address bar."

Another solution I found. If I disable Javascript via Tools -> Options -> Content Tab -> Uncheck Javascript, Google Search works again.

Marking as duplicate.  Reportedly a Google problem that occurs on Windows as well.
