User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 Build Identifier: Lightning 0.5 (build 2007062404) in Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 (20070728) In window "Edit Event" I cannot change the event time to the desired time, neither via keyboard, nor with the time selector pop-up [I mean the pop-up that comes up when clicking next to the time showing a row of hours and a row of minutes to choose from]. Upon hitting return after key board input, or close of the pop up, the event time jumps to two hours earlier. Selecting the event time by drag and drop works on the other hand. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create new event at 12 noon 2. Double click on event to open "Edit event" window now either 3. click downwards triangle next to start time 4. Change start time from 12:00 to 12:05 or 3. edit the start time with keyboard to 12:05 5. Event time jumps to 10:05 !! Actual Results: Event time jumps to 10:05 Expected Results: Changed event time should be 12:05 By just clicking on the time-selector pop-up twice, open and close, the start or end times are decreased by two hours. This is not what I would expect. Same behaviour on the end time. This is the first time I am using Lightning. I have been very happy with Sunbird before, but wanted to take advantage of the tighter integration with Thunderbird. But it looks like I must stick with Sunbird for now. This looks like a very strange bug!! I have re-installed Lighting, but problem prevails.
Please verify that the default timezone in Lightning (Tools -> Options -> Lightning -> Timezone) is the same as the timezone of your OS. In case the timezones differ you suffer from bug 328442 in conjunction with the timezone support of the new event dialog. Until the mentioned bug has been resolved please make sure that the timezones are matching. By the way, this will also happen in Sunbird as it uses the same dialog. If the timezones match but you're still experiencing this behavior please let us know what exactly the settings are (OS and Lightning).
Problem solved, but still a mystery. Thanks for your quick response. Time zones looked ok, so I browsed my AddOn list and found the WCAP extension left over from an earlier trial with WCAP-enabled Lightning. After uninstall of this extension I had no more problems with erratic time settings... I did not manage to reproduce the bug after re-install of WCAP enabled Lightning, then un-install, then install of non-WCAO Lightning. So I am not sure whether the leftover WCAP extension had caused my problem. However, it seems reasonable that the WCAP-enabled Lightning installer also cleans out the WCAP AddOn, which it does not do at present. A leftover WCAP extension might cause a version conflict upon installation of a future, WCAP built-in Lightning. Would you maybe put in a request to the maintainer of the un-installer to remove both AddOns, WCAP-enabled Lightning and WCAP extension at the same time? For completeness: Timezones: Lightning America/Chicago (GMT-6), Windows XP Central Time (GMT-6) SW versions: Lightning Build Identifier: Lightning 0.5 (build 2007062404) in Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 (20070728) OS Windows XP Prof Version 2002, SP 2 (corporate computer, frequently patched) I had no problem with Sunbird, also set to America/Chicago (GMT-6).
