This morning I was searching for an item in my history list. I did a search for the word "color" and because I had no clue what site it was with the contents that I was looking for, I started to revisit them all. But the problem was, when I had visited a site and wanted to move on to the next on the list, the selection that indicated where the last visited item was located in the long list, had disappeared.
Expected behaviour: selection should go to the next item in the list.
I don't know if I should mark this as a regression because previously the selected item stayed in the list.

Ah well I'm mixing things up (By Last Visted list and Search Results). After a search the item stays in the list but it loses selection.

Requesting blocking but I have not much hope. I really worked nicer before bug 389782 was fixed.
Flags: blocking-firefox3?

Ria, what kind of problem are you seeing actually? can you provide a STR?
for me the selection does not disappear, but sometimes it's moved to near item (persist its index but a new visit is added so often is moved up 1, but that depends on the kind of grouping)

The problems appear to be fixed; the selection goes to the next item now (doesn't jump to top anymore). I tested "By last visited" and a list of search results.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
