Using builds 2000-05-12 on win98, linux and mac, In the Account Setup Wizard the user is giving a check box to "Save My Password". In the current spec for Password Manager it states: "Users can not store a password in the Password Manager database during the Account Setup Wizard." Note: we may not allow them to store it in the Account Settings dialog either, per spec, still TBD. When spec is changed please reassisgn to alecf to remove it from the product. Note: if this doesn't get in before PR2 the behavior of this check box should be the same as bug 39338 when it's resolved. 1. Launch Netscape 6 2. Create a New Profile and Launch it 3. Select Mail from the Tasks menu 4. Create a new mail account using the account wizard that comes up automatically. 5. Enter data for each dialog and click Next. 6. On the Name and Password section you will see the check box "Save my password". It should be removed.
Adding nsbeta2 because bug 39338 has nsbeta2. If bug 39338 is accepted and fixed, this has to be removed or have the same functionality as bug 39338

Kevin, do we want Password Manger to work with the Account Wizard and Account Settings dialogs? Account Wizard has a textfield and checkbox where users can enter and save their password. If they check this box, the "blue box" would open. Maybe we don't want to let users save their password here in order to reduce complexity (having a dialog popup during a Wizard). Account Settings. Similar issues here.

Account Settings spec updated for both the Account Settings dialogs and the Account Wizard. Remember my password stuff all removed.
Opps. This was assigned to me to update the spec. Spec was updated but this never got assigned back to alec to implement. Assigning back to alec. Sorry about that.

I wouldn't pull the beta off the wire for the remaining part of this problem. Alec says he has it fixed in his tree. We'll take it for beta3.
When the password stuff comes off this panel, the title of the panel, "User Name and Password" should be changed to "User Name".
