As the registration bug is pretty much done, and the CVS account is up, let's get ne-NP landed and into the incubator. We'll do some initial testing and investigate the productization, and then branch the localization to get into the 2.0.0.x release process.

This bug should move over into the Nepali bugzilla component once that's up.

I'll do the initial landing, Basanta can fix the remaining bugs from there. One thing that needs to be done for sure is to translate the link titles in bookmarks.html, I fixed the links already, but the titles still need to be done.

Basanta, you can check out the code I landed via

cvs -z3 -d basanta%mpp.org.np@cvs.mozilla.org:/l10n co l10n/ne-NP
There's a language pack to test at http://l10n.mozilla.org/~buildslave/incubator/, and the buildbot automation at http://l10n.mozilla.org/buildbot/ should refresh that on check-ins. Build is green so far.

Windows builds wouldn't succeed though, as the charset specified in ne-NP/toolkit/installer/windows/charset.mk can't hold the content of the files in ne-NP/browser/installer/*.properties. I'm afraid there isn't really a working code page for Nepali, so we probably have to revert the installer files back to English.

Sorry, I didn't get or I missed the notification for this bug.
I have done the bookmarks.html. What needs to be done to specify charset for devnagari?
I mean in the file ne-NP/toolkit/installer/windows/charset.mk
I'm afraid that there is not charset for devnagari. That means that you'll have to bite the bullet and fall back to using the English strings in the installer properties files, and in updater.ini.

Hi Basanta, I just checked again, and trying to build the windows installer still breaks on the encoding issue. Could you reverte the files mentioned in comment 1 back to English?
If it the issue of improper translation, then we must change it back to english. But if it is just the matter of time and the devnagari charset will be introduced in the file in future, then I suggest we let it be like that for the time being. My personal requirement is just for linux right now. Please suggest.
For Mozilla, all three platforms count. We might get devnagari script for fx3, but if we do, we can just get the translated version from cvs history. That's the good thing about a version control system, you don't loose your work. For Fx2, we will have to revert back to English.

I just landed this attachment, we need to revert the installer to English for the time being. Prepping to finally resolve this bug.
Branched. Please don't check in into the MOZILLA_1_8_BRANCH without a patch and approval.

I'll follow up with more information on builds etc shortly, I'll grab a bunch of locales together for that.
