Filed as UNCO because, although I was able to reproduce it, it was in a variant of a patch which I no longer have.  Something between bug 299716 comment 72 and bug 299716 comment 75, running the xpcshell testcase.

When I did hit it, I crashed.

I have to reopen this bug - I have code to reproduce, I have a stack trace, and it's different than bug 392282.  Attachments coming.

Steps to reproduce:
(1) Apply the patch (without a patch from bug 299716 - you may have to do a bit of backing out)
(2) Remake the toolkit directory
(3) make -C toolkit/mozapps/extensions check

Kaboom.
