In Windows Vista & firefox, I cannot print downloads (mapquest/google maps, messages, PDFs). Print was always good/correct w/Windows XP Pro. I can print now only through using Internet Explorer. Firefox print set-up looks like it is going to function, but it does not create any response in the printer. Also, I cannot input fax/scan information from my printer/scanner/fax machine into my computer. That function will not work. When using Windows XP Pro, there was never a problem. The new computer is a HP a6030n. The new fax/printer/scanner is an HP Photosmart C7180. Help!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open the PDF, file or folder (normal)
2.Use the "File" tool bar or "right click" to select print options
3.Select "print."
4. Nothing happens after that.
5. Switch to Internet Explorer and all functions work properly EXCEPT input to the computer from the fax/scanner/printer.
Actual Results:
"0." The actual results are "no print," or any mechanical or visual differences in either machine (computer or printer)
Expected Results:
No response observed or experienced.
A "no print" or "no connectivity" use to be experienced when there was no connectivity between the computer and printer/fax/scanner.

i can print without any problems in Vista, can you try with a new profile? (http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new), and please double check your printer settings in print setup
I have a new printer HP photosmart C4280 and cannot print anything from Firefox but can print from Internet Explorer. Had no problem with older printer. No solution yet after 2 hours with HP.
I have the same problem, which appears to have only started when I switched my OS from XP to Vista 64-Bit.
Nothing prints, just a blank page, and when print preview is selected, it is blank.
It appears to me to be an issue with 64-Bit OS, whether Vista or XP. I was hoping 3.5 would have worked, but it doesn't.
IE works fine, can print from that, but firefox under Vista 64-Bit, forget it. I have reinstalled firefox (several times) as well as the printer drivers, nothing works, which only leaves 64_bit as the problem.

This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME
