User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 In Windows Vista, Firefox UI elements containing Hebrew text use a serif font (possibly Times New Roman Unicode) instead of the standard system UI font for Hebrew, which is a clean sans-serif. UI elements include tab labels, and all text entry boxes (URL, Search, forms on pages). Since the font is quite small, the serifs make it very hard to read. This problem is not experienced in Windows XP Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox on a PC running Vista. 2. Go to any page with Hebrew in the title, and look at the tab label OR 3. Start typing Hebrew text into any entry box. Actual Results: Text shown in a Hebrew serif font. Expected Results: Text should be shown in the default system font, which is sans serif.
this is how i see the site you mention, do you see the problem here? I can't read hebrew but it doen't feel so unreadable, so please comment Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; it; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6
Yours is actually using the Vista Hebrew UI font, "Gisha," correctly. Not sure why there's a difference. Attached are screenshots from my PC in Firefox and IE. It turns out the interface font is affected by the settings in Options > Content > Font & Color > Advanced > Western. (*not* Hebrew!) On my computer, Firefox is using the default Western proportional font for those entry boxes. In the screenshots, the default font is Times New Roman, so it's using Times New Roman. I tried to changing the default proportional font to "Sans Serif", so the boxes started showing up in Arial. This is a problem, since it's not just using the default UI font specified by the OS.
Over to General for triage... not sure what the right component for this is.

Can't reproduce it any longer on latest Nightly, running Windows 7 VM. If someone has a (working) STR, please reopen, state the current STR and if possible attach screenshots.
