394355 - TB scrolls to top of message list before returning to bottom after folder switch

Whenever I switch IMAP folders, TB scrolls to the very top of the message list in the new folder before loading, and then returns to the bottom where the view was last time I left it.

This is really disconcerting, especially for large folders that take a long time to load.

This happens only on Mac (OS X 10.4.10 Intel), not Windows.  I tried to verify that this bug is still in 3.0a1pre, but the nightly build won't launch - it hangs forever checking extension compatibility - and my network's too slow to keep downloading 50-meg builds to see how old that bug is.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select the last message in the current IMAP folder.
2. Switch to a new folder.
3. Switch back to the old folder.
Actual Results:  
Folder scrolls to top, then returns to bottom when finished loading

Expected Results:  
Folder stays at bottom while loading

OK, I was able to confirm that this still occurs with version 3.0a1pre (2007080903).  I randomly tried another newer one and it crashed at startup too, but unless this was fixed in the last month, it's still there.

I just verified that it happens with 1.5 as well.  And, in fact, it happens with Windows too.  It's more noticeable on a slow connection; as it happens, my Windows machine and my IMAP server sit right next to each other, while I usually use the Mac from work.  It seems like the "scroll to top" happens as soon as I open the folder; the "scroll to bottom" happens once the folder finishes loading/checking for new mail.

It happens on view=all.

Unrelated to #389993; there is no extra space at the bottom.

Unrelated to #296407; folder position is retained, just temporarily ignored while the folder is loading.

I changed OS and hardware to "all".
