User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007090105 Minefield/3.0a8pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007090105 Minefield/3.0a8pre

The download manager keeps entries for temporary files.
When Open with application is selected at the prompt, the download manager retrieves the file and passes it to the application. Since the file is not meant to be saved by the download manager, it should be removed from the history. In fact, the file is downloaded to the /Temp folder and erased when you exit firefox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on a file to open with an application
2.Select the application
3.File downloads
4.application opens file
5.File still listed in download manager
Actual Results:
Entry stays in download manager across restarts.

Expected Results:
Entry is deleted upon restart or upon passing the file to the application.

If multiple files of the same name are downloaded, the entry does not reflect the real filename. Additional files with the same name have numbers appended to the filename. The download manager does not reflect this. In my case there were 9 different files. They had the name statement.qnx, statement-1.qnx, etc... The entris in the download manager all said ../Temp/statement.qnx despite the different filenames. The date codes showed that the statement-9.qnx was the one the download manager passed to the application. However, upon restarting firefox, the entry points to the wrong file.

The files are not deleted until firefox is exited. I have watched the folder while researching the issue. Apparently some of the older builds crashed leaving copies of the file. I download this file every few days, the file itself has different information. If the filename is changed the entry should reflect that fact.
With regards to the first issue (and the summary of the bug), we want to track this so the user can download it again. Therefore, WONTFIX.

Please file a bug for the second issue of the download manager not tracking the proper file name. That is legit and should be fixed.

Please see bug number 394579. It is badly worded, but it is specific for the wrong filename listed in the download manager.
