User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv: Gecko/20061201 Firefox/ (Ubuntu-feisty)
Build Identifier: Versie (20070824)

Even though i set all permissions to none for group and others, Thinderbird overwrites the permissions to read for group and read for others. i don't think that is a good idea and also, when using unison to synchronize my mailfiles with the Windows PC, the files that were reset to rwx--r--r-- will not copy over to the location where i want them to be found for windows-thunderbird, even though most of them are empty (no mails in the folder). This happens almost every time when trying to synchronize the Draft, Inbox, Trash and Send folder. I do have a screenprint if it is possible to send.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set all permissions to Group:none, Others:none
2. run Thunderbird and get mails
3. exit thunderbird
4. run Unison to synchronize: errors because of changed properties
Actual Results:
no special steps

Expected Results:
I expect the file properties to stay as they were (rw------ of rwx------) and NOT rw-r--r--.

Leave or set file properties to rw------ of rwx------
fwiw I see (tbird trunk 2007-09-02-10Z linux) all my profile folders set drwx------ so group and others can't traverse in there. guess that doesn't help if your local mail storage is elsewhere, which it can be.

The folders are indeed set to drwx------ , but some of the files within are set to -rw------- Strangely enough, not all. Maybe those were not changed so were not set.

correction: some files were set to -rw--r--r--
